Boris is one of the internationally known experts on AI-generated images. His refusal of the Sony World Photo Awards in April 2023 kicked off a global debate about the relationship between photography and AI-generated images (“promptography”). His image “PSEUDOMNESIA | The Electrician” became “The picture that stopped the world” (The Guardian) and a symbol for a new era. He was interviewed by The Times, The Guardian, Telegraph, Times Radio, BBC 4 and LBC Radio.

Since then, he has been invited as an expert for talks and workshops by over 50 international universities, art colleges and organisations, such as Al Jazeera, Bloomberg, Goethe Institutes of USA / Canada / Mexico, Münchner Medientage, TEDx, European Creators Lab, Australian Digital Alliance, Dubai Future Foundation, Baunhaus-Universität Weimar, University of Pittsburgh and others.

Background:
Boris studied visual arts at the Art Academies of Mainz / Germany, Prague / Czech Republic and the Sarojini Naidu School of Arts & Communication Hyderabad / India. In addition, he studied philosophy at the Universities of Cologne and Mainz and economics at the university of Potsdam / Germany.

After his studies, he entered the booming new economy at an angle and worked between 2001 and 2022 as an expert for digital marketing for agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Scholz & Friends, MRM McCann and Endemol Shine.

Since 2004, Boris has lectured at Victorian College of the Arts / University Melbourne, Photography Studies College Melbourne, Akademie für Bildende Künste Mainz and Hochschule Furtwangen.

In addition, he has given workshops for numerous international advertising agencies, institutions and universities.
